Bored...

And browsing my sisters blog. This is the result:

This amuses me greatly, LazyPhil posted this on her blog in 2005:

Aileen Chenoa and Jeanine Lahela were born on Wednesday the 13th. I don’t know what time or any of the size/weight details yet. Received a tired and groggy phone call from Rebekah on Saturday. Unfortunately I was ordering people and their suitcases around on a sidewalk and so did not get a chance to talk to her in person. However it appears that they are all ok, and they all three (four if you count Joe) went home on Saturday.
I’m excited and yet trying to resign myself to never seeing them and these kids will never even know who I am. I’m just old. I make myself think of all of the people who mom sees and says “Oh, I used to be good friends with her mom” and I have never even seen or met any of them. So now I’m in the position of being the mom’s old friend.
That’s depressing.

Now those two girls call her "Aunt C", and are spending next week at our house while their parents... do something, I'm not sure what. It just goes to show that you never know where you'll be in 5 years. :)

ARRR!!!!

My pirate name is:

Bloody Jenny Flint

Every pirate lives for something different. For some, it's the open sea. For others (the masochists), it's the food. For you, it's definitely the fighting. Like the rock flint, you're hard and sharp. But, also like flint, you're easily chipped, and sparky. Arr!

Aliens Exist

Hey mom there's something in the backroom
I hope it's not the creatures from above
You used to read me stories
As if my dreams were boring
We all know conspiracies are dumb

What if people knew that these were real (these were real)
I'd leave my closet door open all night
I know the CIA would say
What you hear is all hearsay
I wish someone would tell me what was right

Up all night long
And there's something very wrong
And I know it must be late
Been gone since yesterday
I'm not like you guys
I'm not like you

I am still the skeptic yes you know me (yes you know me)
Been best friends and will be till we die (till we die)
I got an injection
Of of fear from the abduction
My best friend thinks I'm just telling lies

Alright...

Up all night long
And there's something very wrong
And I know it must be late
Been gone since yesterday
I'm not like you guys
I'm not like you

Dark and scary, ordinary, explanation
Information, nice to know ya, paranoia
Where's my mother, biofather...

Up all night long
And there's something very wrong
And I know it must be late
Been gone since yesterday
I'm not like you guys...
Twelve majestic lies...

Me? Or not?

So, I know LazyPhil is usually the one who has alien encounters, but I believe I may have been... TAKEN!!!!!!!!

I have found a spot on my arm that looks and feels suspiciously like I've been injected with something. (Although I can't remember the last time I was at the drs and actually had an injection.) I don't recall any bright lights or missing time, and I haven't had any nosebleeds for a while, so, I'm not sure exactly what they were doing. (Notice I didn't say "So, I'm not sure I was abducted.)

Like I have said before, I can't remember ever having been injected, so I really have nothing to base my theory on. Except for the fact that most of my siblings have been hospitalized/been to the dentist recently enough that I can remember their whiny complaints about the itchy, burning swelling spot on their inner elbow.

And I really, really can't explain it. Ya' know, sometimes LazyPhil just says she doesn't know where her odd cuts, bruises and writing come from, just for the reaction. (The rest of us are usually witness to the causes.) I really don't know. I'm a little, tiny bit worried.

It looks like it may be a bee sting, but it's late, I haven't been outside lately and I'm not sure how a bee could've stung me without me noticing. And, a bee sting wouldn't make my whole arm ache.

So now I'm not sure I'm me... Or, maybe I'm not sure she's not me... Or maybe I'm not sure if her conscious isn't invading my conscious... Or maybe I'm not sure that the Aliens don't think she's "used up", and have decided to move on to newer and more interesting prey. Hence, the title.

P.S. I had a nosebleed later... now I know I'v been abducted.

Eh, Whatever. *Shrug*

I saw this on a blog while I was browsing. Thought it looked pretty interesting.
Instructions:

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 3 sentences on your blog along with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.

Mine was The Complete Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook.

"The reliability of executing this shot decreases considerably if the top of the ball is more than half an inch below the water line. Take off your shoes and socks. If you cannot stand on the bank, step into the water barefoot."

I believe it is talking about golfing. The sentences are not particularly "cool" or "intellectual", but the book is awesome. L1 got it for his birthday. Which was yesterday. He turned 19. NOT FAIR!!

Birthday Post for my Bestie 'Cuz

At Bible study last Sunday we talked about really loving someone, and telling them that you do. This is the result of that very wise and insightful talk we got into. So, this goes out to my best friend and cousin, I wish you a wonderful year.

I don't need to be your friend, I want to be your friend.
If I needed to be your friend, there would be no choice on my part, it would be involuntary.
But I WANT to be your friend, which makes it a choice I have to make every day. Except, for me, it isn't a choice at all.
I have always been your friend, you have always been my friend, and we will ALWAYS be friends.
No matter what happens, no matter what life, in all its stupidness, throws at us, no matter where we move to, or how our lives change, we will always be best friends and cousins.

I don't need to love you, I want to love you.
If I needed to love you, there would be no choice on my part, it would be involuntary.
But I WANT to love you, which makes it a choice I have to make every day. Except, for me, it isn't a choice at all.
I have always loved you, you have always loved me, and we will ALWAYS love each other.
No matter what happens, no matter what life, in all its stupidness, throws at us, no matter where we move to, or how our lives change, we will always be best friends and cousins.

*Sigh*

Do you remember a while back, when I said something about that crash, and that one thumb of mine? Well, I'm having some "complications". Since my thumb still hurts, its making me hold my wrist at an odd angle, which in turn is making my wrist swell and do odd things like that.
So my so-called "vacation" this weekend may or may not go well. It's not actually, technically a vacation, more of a visit with my Cousin, 'cause I got my chores done and because she really does love me, no matter what you say!!! :)
Hmm, I think I'm gonna complain again about my wrist... OWW!! My wrist hurts!!!
Well, l8er.

Car Crash...

This past week we went to Ohio for my brother and sister's college graduation,
which, by the way, went fine. So, for those loyal followers (Hiya, C!!) who are wondering about the car wreck I twittered about, I think I should probably tell y'all that we're fine.
We were driving home on I-44 coming into Bristow, with S
driving the big car and T1 driving the small one. I was riding in the small car with T1. We were about a half mile behind the big car, when the front left tire got caught in the non-existent "rumble strip" (Just in case you couldn't tell, there wasn't a rumble strip. It was all worn away.) The first thing that told me something was wrong was when T1 reached over, put one hand on my shoulder and said, and I quote, "I'm sorry, L." Then when I looked up, the middle berm/k-rail cement thing was right THERE!!! We hit it with the left front bumper, bounced off it, swerved, and hit it again. Then We spun around in a circle before hitting it again and coming to rest against the cement thing, so we couldn't really open T1's door. The airbags deployed when we hit it the cement thing the second time, and I think that's when T1 had her hand on my shoulder and that's how she hurt her thumb and wrist. I was messing around with the lappy, and when the airbag deployed it shut on my thumb. So we both have very sore right thumbs.
Anyways, when we came to a stop the very first thing T1 did was ask if I was alright. I was sorta scared the car was gonna catch on fire, so I got out real fast and T1 was looking for her phone so she could call S and get him to come back to help us. We couldn't find her phone and when I got out the computer fell out, so while T1 was looking for the phone I picked up the computer, and then I was helping T1 look for the phone and we couldn't find it, then it started ringing and we found it in the passenger side floorboard. S was calling to see where we were. Like I said, I was worried the car was gonna catch fire, so I told T1 to get out on my side because her door wouldn't open. After that it was just the normal calling the police and ambulance, and all that stuff. The car may be fixable, but we don't know yet. We are both pretty sore all over, plus our thumbs. :)
Our ears are still ringing from when the airbags went off, but, like I said, we are fine. I was actually quite proud of both of us, because, through the entire thing, there was absolutely no yelling or screaming. The whole time we were conversing, each asking if the other was okay, and T1 was apologizing the whole time too.
After we got out and away, I looked back at the car, and the first thing I saw was the windshield wipers going, they went once, then kinda petered out. :) It was kind of funny.
Well, just wanted to let anyone who reads my blog know that we are fine. (By the way, our insurance will cover the cost of the crash.) I also wanted it documented so I don't forget it.
See ya later, alligator!

Conversation...

In Wally-world. We were walking by the toy aisle.

Me: "I love that!!"
MoTN: "What?"
Me: "Toys!"
MoTN: "Do we need to go get some?"
Me: "No, I have lots of toys."
MoTN: "Well, if you really, really love something, you should have lots of them."
Me: "Not necessarily. I mean, you can really, really love, say, your spouse, but that doesn't mean you need lots of them!"

Just so you know...

I was thinking, after the last post, that ya'll might get confused by my rather obscure and random references to my pets. So I thought I would give you a quick rundown of 'em.

Shasta~7 1/2 year old Border Collie mix. Very loving, but REALLY shy, a rescue from an abusive situation. Got her last year in March. She is also overweight.

Frederick Von Sampson or Frede~ 2 1/2 year old red Doberman Pinscher. Very large, very excitable. My siblings got him for my mom in 2008 around Thanksgiving.

Rocko~ 6 year old German Shepherd. Old lazybones when inside, excitable puppy when outside. My big sister rescued him from Ohio somewhere.

Thea~ 7 year old German Shepherd. Very skinny, like, unhealthy skinny. We are trying to bring her weight up. My big sister rescued her from somewhere in Ohio.

Rusty~ 2 1/2 year old Siamese mix. Adorable white and slightly red cat with blue eyes. Very loving, gives me kisses on command. Rescued in 2008, he was in very bad condition, covered in fleas and ticks. In great condition now.

Oreo~ 2 year old maybe Persian mix. Black and white double stuff cat. :) Another rescue. He was living outside my mom's work when mum found him.

Zhashagi Doklizh or shagi~ 1 year old blue Parakeet. Very sweet, he just doesn't like to be touched... :) He can whistle pretty bird, whippoorwill, and wolf whistle. He chatters a lot at night.

Tweet~ Dark gray Cockatiel. Beautiful bird. Doesn't like people, not very socialized. She has been sort of sad the past few months, as her lifelong companion died a couple months ago.

(Disclaimer: List subject to change and revision without notice.)

(See, told you so!)

Bit of an update

Hmm, so you know that one person, who has those two boys? She decided to hire a professional tutor. So it looks like I won't get the new experience of tutoring. Not that I begrudge her hiring someone who actually has the qualification , just that I would've liked the training. I do have the dog right now though. I picked him up Wednesday night after Church and I am going to have him until Monday afternoon. He and Frede get along better than I had hoped. Well, I really should be locking up and going to bed, so, night all.

Tutor-ing

There are a couple of adults at my Church that I'm closer to than most teenagers would be. Two of them live just a block or two away from us.

Well, one of their neighbors asked them if they knew someone who was willing to doggysit for her. They recommended me, I guess because I help with their dogs from time to time.

So yesterday I went over there to meet her dog, who by the way is an adorable American Eskimo. I was just expecting to go, meet her dog and leave. Turns out she has two sons, one in 4th grade and one in 5th grade, and she usually tutors them over the summer. In the past she's done it herself, but she feels they would benefit more from some else doing it. (She says she's not a very good teacher.)

She sorta kinda asked if I would tutor them in reading over the summer... I think I'm gonna do it, at least for a little while. If I'm terrible at it, I'll probably stop, sooner or later. :)

Here is what the dog looks like, kinda. (By the way, his name is Mojo.)

****************

My mom got a huge grill for mothers day, or some other special occasion. :) So, yesterday, as my big bro's birthday gift to my big sis, he bought some really nice cuts of beef to grill on our new grill... I ate the most I've ever eaten, literally. I made veggie packs, which are chopped potatoes, carrots and onions with salt and butter, and corn on the cob.
I ate a 32oz ribeye steak, a very large veggie pack, a large piece of corn on the cob and probably four cups of sweet tea. Maybe not really the most I've ever eaten, but it was pretty close. It was definitely the BEST steak I've ever had. The only one I haven't wanted A1 steak sauce with. Thanks Big Bro!
